Val Viola, a journey of great scenic beauty, is a drive at the location Arnoga: the entrance is located along the national road No 301 that connects Bormio to Livigno.

The morphology of the Val Viola, oriented to the southwest, is typical of the alpine valleys covered by glacial erosion: it is shaped by large shelves of alternating small jumps higher placing again in very large basins. The origin of the valley, due to the slow and relentless work of the great glaciers that once were, is also demonstrated by the layers that are located on its ridges and the shape and form of rocks found there.
